How does the Invisalign process work?
You will first swing by for a consultation at one of our dental clinics and meet with one of our Invisalign providers to see how we can improve your smile. We will take images of your teeth with a scanner and show you a simulation of what fantastic results you can get.
If our scanner shows that your treatment is recommended, we’ll look at your smile goals and tell you what to expect and create a unique Invisalign treatment plan. 15 minutes is all it takes to simulate how your teeth will end up looking. Simply amazing!
At the treatment stage, we give you customised aligner trays that you will wear as you go about your day. We recommend wearing your aligners for 20 hours each day in order to maximise effectiveness and get that smile of your dreams quicker. Since your aligners are easily removable, you can take them off when you are eating, drinking or if you need to brush, floss or mouthwash.
We will regularly see you at our clinic to check up on your progress and give you a new set of aligners to keep you on track. With quality dental care, treatment usually runs for a period of 6 months, although this may vary based on your unique goals.
How does it feel to wear Invisalign?
The Invisalign aligner trays are comfortable to wear as they are light with a smooth texture – in other words, the fit won’t bother you as you go about your day. You may, however, experience some discomfort as the aligners gradually shift your teeth into their new position. No pain, no gain – it will all be worth it in the end!
Most discomfort is felt after you wear a new aligner as you adjust to new pressure on your teeth. This should subside after a few days. One of our main duties is your wellbeing, and we’re happy to look at your teeth, gums and aligners if you find anything of concern.
What happens when my treatment timeline has ended?
Once your Invisalign treatment has finished, we will give you a set of retainers to wear in order to keep your teeth straight and maintain that amazing smile!
